A sweet toddler in Australia was fortunate to go on an outing to the zoo with his parents this week where he got to meet a real lion up close. In fact, he was so taken by the “big kitty cat”, he went up to the glass partition to give the wild animal a kiss!
In the video, you can see the toddler walking up to the lion, which is at least double his size, and planting a kiss on the glass window separating him from the dangerous animal. An adult who is obviously recording the scene is heard telling the boy to say, “One more kiss”, then, “Bye-bye,” and “I love you” to the lion, which he does with typical innocence, and to the delight of the adults.
Not so much the lion, we think, who is standing firm, scrutinising the scene unfolding in front of him with obvious curiosity.

The touching scene which was captured on video at a zoo in Perth, Australia, has been shared on Twitter and has received mixed reactions.
Local Tweeps who have commented on the video, have suggested that if it wasn’t for the glass barrier, the lion would’ve made a meal of the little boy in seconds. Looks, as we know, can be very deceiving. And lions, like other wild animals, are notoriously unpredictable.
Still, there were some who found the capture “adorable”, and loved the innocence of the toddler who hasn’t been exposed to danger, or wild animals, for that matter.
What do you think? Was it responsible of the adults to encourage the toddler to get so close to the lion – despite the glass barrier? Would you let your little one do this?
